Trawler Lights

Terms for using our website and booking with us.

These terms explain how you may use this website and how enquiries, bookings, stays and private coastal experiences with Trawler Lights are handled.

Last updated: 14 June 2026.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of trawlerlights.com and to enquiries, booking requests and confirmed bookings made with Trawler Lights, unless a more specific written agreement applies.

By using this website, sending an enquiry, placing a booking request or confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. If you book through a third-party booking platform, the platform’s own terms may also apply to that booking.

2. Who we are

Trawler Lights is a boutique coastal retreat and private experience brand based in Brixham, South Devon.

AddressTrawler Lights, 7a Rea Barn Close, Brixham, United Kingdom, TQ5 9EA

In these terms, “Trawler Lights”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Trawler Lights. “You” means the person using the website, making an enquiry, making a booking or staying with us.

3. Using this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes connected with viewing Trawler Lights, making enquiries, checking information and arranging bookings or experiences.

You must not:

  • use the website for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, server, booking systems or connected services;
  • introduce viruses, malware, scraping tools or other harmful technology;
  • copy, reproduce or commercially exploit website content without permission;
  • use the website in a way that interferes with its security, availability or performance.

We may restrict or block access to the website where we reasonably believe it is being misused.

4. Website content and availability

We aim to keep website information clear and accurate, but the website is provided for general information and booking support. Descriptions, photography, facilities, local information, availability, prices and offers may change from time to time.

Images are intended to represent the character and style of Trawler Lights. Exact layouts, furnishings, views, lighting and seasonal details may vary.

Nothing on the website is a confirmed booking or binding offer until we, or an authorised booking provider acting for us, issue a written booking confirmation.

We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website where needed for maintenance, security, operational or business reasons.

5. Enquiries, bookings and confirmations

An enquiry does not create a booking. A booking is only confirmed when you receive written confirmation from Trawler Lights or from an authorised booking platform or provider.

StageWhat it meansApplies when
EnquiryYou ask about availability, prices, stays, experiences or requirements.No booking is held unless we confirm this in writing.
Booking requestYou submit dates, guest details, experience choices or payment information.The request is subject to acceptance, availability and any required payment.
Confirmed bookingWe or an authorised booking provider send written confirmation.The booking terms, house rules and payment terms for that booking apply.

You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. If you book on behalf of other guests, you are responsible for ensuring that they understand and comply with these terms, the house rules and any booking-specific conditions.

You are responsible for providing accurate names, contact details, dates, guest numbers, arrival information and special requirements. We may not be able to provide the booking properly if information supplied by you is incomplete or incorrect.

6. Prices, payments and deposits

Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. Prices, offers and availability may change before a booking is confirmed.

The payment schedule, deposit requirements, balance due date, security deposit, card authorisation and any included or excluded charges will be shown during booking or set out in your booking confirmation.

You must make payments by the due dates stated for your booking. If a required payment is not received on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled and apply the cancellation terms for that booking.

Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider or booking platform. We do not store full card details on this website.

7. Cancellations, changes and refunds

The cancellation, amendment and refund terms for your booking are the terms shown when you book or set out in your booking confirmation. Different booking channels, rates, dates, stays and experiences may have different cancellation terms.

To request a cancellation or change, contact us as soon as possible or use the booking platform through which the booking was made. A change is not agreed until confirmed in writing.

Date-specific accommodation, leisure and experience bookings are normally governed by the cancellation terms attached to that booking rather than by a general cooling-off period, except where the law requires otherwise.

If we have to cancel a confirmed booking for reasons within our reasonable control, we will refund the amounts you have paid to us for services not provided. We are not responsible for separate travel, event, insurance or third-party costs unless the law requires otherwise.

If a booking cannot go ahead because of events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, safety issues, local restrictions, interruption to utilities, damage to property, supplier failure or other circumstances beyond our control, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and act fairly in the circumstances. This may include rearranging, offering an alternative or refunding amounts paid for services not provided.

8. Guest and visitor responsibilities

Guests must treat Trawler Lights, neighbouring properties, staff, suppliers and the local community with care and respect.

You and your guests must:

  • follow all house rules, arrival instructions, safety information and reasonable requests from us or our representatives;
  • not exceed the agreed number of guests or bring unauthorised visitors;
  • not hold parties, events, commercial photography, filming or gatherings without prior written permission;
  • not cause nuisance, excessive noise, antisocial behaviour or disturbance to neighbours;
  • not smoke or vape inside the property;
  • use appliances, facilities and outdoor areas safely and only for their intended purpose;
  • supervise children and vulnerable guests at all times;
  • leave the property reasonably clean, tidy and secure at departure.

We may end a stay or experience early, without refund, if guest behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, seriously disruptive or in material breach of these terms or the house rules.

9. Arrival, departure and access

Check-in, check-out, parking, key, access and arrival information will be provided before or at the start of your stay or experience.

You must not arrive before the agreed check-in time or remain after the agreed check-out time unless we have confirmed this in writing.

We may need access to accommodation during a stay for urgent repairs, safety, maintenance, inspection, legal compliance or emergency reasons. We will try to give reasonable notice where practical, except in an emergency or where immediate access is required.

Reasonable charges may be made for late departure, lost keys or access devices, avoidable call-outs, excessive cleaning or additional costs caused by breach of these terms or the house rules.

10. Damage, loss and safety

You are responsible for damage, breakages, loss, excessive cleaning or missing items caused by you, your guests, visitors or pets beyond fair wear and tear.

Damage or safety concerns must be reported as soon as possible so they can be dealt with promptly. We may deduct reasonable costs from a security deposit or request payment for losses or costs not covered by a deposit.

You are responsible for your own belongings and valuables. We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal items unless caused by our negligence or where the law says we are responsible.

Trawler Lights is in a coastal location. Guests should take sensible care around steps, outdoor areas, harbours, coastal paths, water, changing weather and local terrain, and should follow any safety guidance provided.

11. Private experiences and third-party services

Private coastal experiences, add-ons, local services and partner-led activities are subject to availability and may depend on weather, tides, safety conditions, supplier availability, guest suitability and operational requirements.

We may change, postpone or cancel an experience where we reasonably consider it unsafe, unsuitable or unavailable. Where this happens, we will act fairly and explain the options available for that booking.

Some services may be provided by independent third parties. Their own terms, conditions, eligibility rules, safety requirements and insurance arrangements may apply. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of independent third-party providers except where the law says we are responsible.

12. Accessibility, health and special requests

Please tell us about accessibility needs, dietary requirements, allergies, medical considerations or other special requests before booking, or as soon as possible after they arise.

We will try to accommodate reasonable requests where we can, but requests are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.

You are responsible for deciding whether the property, location, facilities or experience are suitable for you and your guests based on the information available and any advice we provide.

13. Reviews, photographs and content you share

If you send us a review, testimonial, photograph or other content, or tag Trawler Lights on social media, you give us permission to use, repost or refer to that content for Trawler Lights marketing and promotional purposes, unless you tell us otherwise.

You must only share content that you have the right to share and that does not infringe anyone else’s rights or privacy.

We will not knowingly publish private information about you or a child in your party without appropriate permission.

14. Intellectual property

All website content, including text, images, graphics, layout, branding and design, belongs to Trawler Lights or our licensors unless stated otherwise.

You may view and download website pages for personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, reproduce, publish, sell, license, adapt or use website content for commercial purposes without written permission.

The Trawler Lights name, visual identity and branding must not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or ownership without permission.

16. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of your statutory rights, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

If we breach these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of that breach or failure.

We are not responsible for:

  • losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made;
  • business losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity or loss of goodwill;
  • losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by you;
  • losses caused by your failure to follow house rules, safety instructions or reasonable guidance;
  • losses caused by third parties or events outside our reasonable control, except where the law says we are responsible.

These terms do not affect any legal rights you have as a consumer.

17. Privacy and personal information

We use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it and the rights you have in relation to your personal information.

You can contact us at info@trawlerlights.com with questions about privacy or personal information.

18. Problems and complaints

If something is not right during your stay or experience, please tell us as soon as possible so we have a fair opportunity to put it right.

If you want to make a complaint after your stay or experience, contact us by email with your name, booking details, a clear description of the issue and any relevant photographs or evidence.

We will consider complaints fairly and aim to respond within a reasonable time.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be available on this page.

The terms that apply to a confirmed booking are the terms provided or made available at the time that booking was confirmed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.

20. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
